When the website was first established, I wrote the text and a computor literate friend did the rest but that left me unable to edit and to add stuff. I have now acquired the technology but won't try to reconstruct the past six years !
I have continued to race the bikes at circuits in England but have also ridden in Germany (Schotten, Hockenheim and Nurburgring) Czeckoslovakia (Horice) Sweden (Linkoping) France (Monthlery) and Holland (Tubbergen, Hengelo and Barneveld) - all great fun and when you appear at these places, you are made most welcome.
I have also worked very hard to try and get my bikes, incuding the Beasley 250cc KTT into good running order. I have also purchased and rebuilt a 1929 Mki - number KTT117.

2005 Season, May - The first meeting of the season for me was at Tubbergen in Holland. I went woth three other Velo enthusiasts, John Mundey, Alan Lawrence and John Hannis, all of us on 'cammies' . We had a great weekend and were made most welcome by our Dutch friends.

June -19th - Banbury run with the two 'Johns' all on pre 1930 Mki cammies, not a race but a really great day out - approximately 70 mile tour. The weather was exceptionally hot.

25th and 26th - Racing at Lydden Hill, two day meeting at this super unspoilt little circuit - no mickey mouse chicanes here ! I took the Mkviii and the Beasley for it's first real outing. The Beasley soon showed that it needs a bit more looking at but the Mkviii went well. I decide to leave the Beasley until the end of the season and give it a proper coat of looking at in the winter.

July - 13th - Racing at Hengelo,' round the houses' on closed public road in the town of Hengelo. An evening meeting on a very short circuit (800m) on block paving. It felt a bit dodgy but the Dutch are very easygoing and it was good fun.

16th - Racing at Barneveld - another closed road event on an industrial estate. For an improvised circuit, it was very good. The weather was still very hot, so I completed the period look by riding in 'pudding basin' helmet and goggles.

24th - Racing at Cadwell Park, full circuit with the VMCC. Cadwell is just fabulous ! Rode the post-war Mkviii, which is now going very well, in the pre '48 unlimited and the Arthur Lavington race. There were three Mkviii's - Dave walker's (ridden by Grant Sellers), mine and Geoff Bloor's. Grahame Rhodes was on a recently completed 'works' 500 (see photo's in gallery).

August - 20th and 21st - the two day Schotten Grand prix is always a good event and one where the classes suit a Mkviii KTT. Class C is for bikes up to 350cc up to the year 1949, the Mkviii is simply at the 'top of it's class'. I also rode the Mki KTT in class B for machines made before 1930 with no size limits. The bike was the quickest 350cc but had to race against much bigger engines. The lovely atmosphere at Schotten is created by the generous spectators who show their appreciation.We are made to feel most welcome there. Geoff Bloor rode his Mkviii but there were few other English riders this year.

September - 3rd and 4th - Cadwell Park - two day meeting to conclude the VMCC racing season. I decided to enter my post-war Mkviii (966) which is now sorted and a pleasure to ride.Saturday was round the short 'Woodland' circuit, which I like because it is twisty and goes some way to neutralise the advantage of more powerful bikes. Sunday was the full circuit.The keenly contested Dave Alcock Memorial Race for Velocettes was won by Kevin Thurston on his very quick Venom. Ian Whitehead took his Ray Cowles 250cc Mkviii KTT special out for a few laps.

October - 7th to the 10th - Colombres, Spain. Asturias is in Northern Spain and although the 'main event' is a hill climb on Saturday, part of the Spanish championships, the real fun of the meeting was the excellent marshalled road rides organised by the club, M C Piston. The sociability was only matched by the spectacular terrain. Ian and I went together  and for the road ride, I rode my Mki, while Ian rode my Mkii KSS. We both entered the hill climb, Ian on his Grand Prix New Imperial and myself on the Mkviii. We will definitely return in 2006.
